Ronan Heaney, a native of County Mayo, Ireland, and his wife, TC, have long been dedicated to creating welcoming neighborhood establishments rooted in hospitality, tradition, and community. Together, they founded two beloved Irish pub-restaurants — McNamara's (1997–2018) and Paddy Mac's (1998–present) — while raising their two daughters, Molly and Hailey.

After many years in Chicago, the Heaney family relocated north in 2020 and proudly established roots in Glenview. Their connection to the community runs deep, with Molly graduating from Regina Dominican High School in 2023 and Hailey currently attending Loyola Academy as a member of the Class of 2027.

In 2023, the Heaney family embraced an exciting new chapter with the acquisition of Whiskey River. Following an extensive refresh and thoughtful enhancements to the space, Whiskey River Bar & Grill officially reopened on July 10, with a grand opening celebration held on August 12.

As a longtime neighborhood establishment, Whiskey River carries a rich history, and the Heaney family is honored to continue its legacy for years to come. Every member of the family has played a hands-on role in shaping the restaurant into a warm and inviting gathering place where friends, families, and neighbors can come together to enjoy great food, genuine hospitality, and a true sense of community.
